What to expect
First we will have an assessment together.
A first session will help you get a sense of who I am and what you are looking for in your counsellor. This session will also give you the opportunity to tell me a little more about the difficulties you are experiencing right now, whilst we go through an assessment and help us look at whether we can work together, and whether I am a good fit for you. During this session we can go at your own pace, and look at what is troubling you in a safe way so that you feel comfortable.
I work with adults only, over the age of 18.
What is Integrative therapy
Integrative counselling looks at you as a whole person, taking your mental, physical and emotional needs into consideration. I use techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach that works for you. In the work that I do this is a collaborative process.
Integration aims to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship that helps you develop self-awareness. When you understand the causes of your concerns or triggers for your behaviour, you can confidently set goals and develop new behaviours to improve your satisfaction with life.
Sessions
We can look to working short term or long term depending on your goals of therapy. This will be looked at together during our assessment.
Therapeutic Boundaries
Our counselling sessions will be 50 minutes on the same time and day weekly as we have agreed above, unless there are planned holidays or breaks.
Support is limited to our sessions only. If you need other support outside this time, I encourage you to speak to another trusted professional to ask for further support.
Recording of our counselling sessions together is prohibited, this is to ensure your confidentiality is upheld.
